A wonderful poetic thought, and an invitation to write. I love this format, Connie! You make me think that Scribe around here might be the perfect place to write this kind of thing. Thank you, and welcome! 💚🌳

Princess 👸 Buttercup is my beagle! She’s a leap year baby! Named after the Princess Bride 👰. I started a book on her once but never finished it! Great work!

Sam - Ha, I adore those names. when I was a wee little thing, someone nicknamed me, Gattiva, but our dialect pronounced it Cattiva - which I think translates to Naughty or Mischievous Girl. Also, published in my bookstore’s anthology is my long short story, The Grimalkin, a normal cat with magical powers set in modern times. One reader insists that I expand it into a novella or preferably a movie screenplay because of the characters who live with Grimalkin.

i'll need to take a look at Grimalkin. and i would encourage you to expand on it.

and cattiva is the right way to spell and pronounce the word. i turned it into "Gattiva", a combination of "gatta" and "cattiva".

My cats all had mundane names like Thetis and Kristal, but my plants, now that's a different story. Willamina, Garabaldi, Collosus, Brutus. , I could go on.

Love this thread.

my first hamster was Hamtaro, but he ran away when he was still a baby and I adopted his sister, Sandy, who i had until she died of old age. i had a red crawfish named Rose and a brown guinea pig named Mr. Burrows, who unfortunately was eaten by a cat. i also had three small white dogs named Timmy, Courage and Lychee. Timmy and Lychee passed away at age 13 but Courage is going strong at 20. i had a kitten named Chip but i had to give her up to my friend because i was moving around too much. my husband and i had two hamsters named Cookie and Butter, when we first started dating. and then we had an orange cat named Kimchi who passed away a few years ago due to a heart attack. and now we have two cats named Yogurt and Mimi.
