Hello everyone!
Today is July 3, 2024, which means it's my feast day! I'm not a saint, but since today is St. Thomas' Day, I thought it was the perfect time for a little announcement!
Since the launch of Scribe on June 20th, I've been toying with the idea of creating a future newsletter and literary salon with Scribe writers and all you readers of the publication. Now it's time to tell you more, so pour yourself a glass of your favorite refreshing beverage and open your ears!
Papyrus! What is it?
Those of you who have been following me on Medium for a while know this, but newbies here at Substack probably don't. I have a passion for ancient Egypt, and that's where the name of the publication, Scribe, comes from. I tell it here. So to start this special newsletter, I wanted to stick to the same theme. And that's how the very first edition of Papyrus will see the light of day, on Sunday, July 7, 2024!
In this special newsletter, which will be published every Sunday here in the pages of Scribe, I'll talk about what's new in the publication, the stories and poems published during the week, what's on my mind (which is often cool), and the topics that will be covered in the literary salon, which I'll get to in a moment.
The first four issues of Papyrus will be open to the public, so that everyone can discover it and get an idea of its content. Subsequent issues (starting August 4) will be reserved for paying subscribers.
To celebrate the launch of this special newsletter (and the literary salon to come), you can take advantage of a 20% discount on your annual subscription. The offer lasts until August 15, so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the first few newsletters and decide whether or not you want to support me, the publication, and its talented writers. I certainly hope you'll be there!

Don't hesitate to share with others! 💚
What about the literary salon? Will there be tea and pain au chocolat?
As you can see, a paying subscription to Scribe includes not only the special Papyrus newsletter, but also privileged access to the literary salon with all the writers of the publication! Specifically, the literary salon can be found here:
You can also access it directly from the Scribe navigation bar.
My idea for this literary salon is to make it a lively place where conversations can flourish and where we can all share ideas about topics that are close to our hearts, our lives, our readings, our writing sessions, and so on. We could even set up regular meetings with certain Scribe writers, to be announced in advance in Papyrus. For example, they might decide to talk about writing one of their poems and answer questions from readers. Just one idea among many!
It's all up to the imagination, and that's what I love about the special newsletter and the literary salon. We'll all be able to express our creativity and, most importantly, come together. So I hope this post warms your heart and that many of you will join us on this new journey!
Thanks for reading, and see you on July 7th for the first issue of Papyrus!
Tom
