Hello everyone!
Maybe Scribe, the publication as you know it on Medium, born in the winter of 2017, could also exist here on Substack, a bit like a cut you can make from a plant you love more than anything else in the world to give it a second life, or something like that.
I never thought I'd write this story, but it's June 20th, the day before the Fête de la Musique here in France, and it might be a good idea for us all to play a new score together to give Scribe a new life, without abandoning the original plant.
Who knows, maybe something magical will happen here and our love for beautiful words and poetry will touch new readers. That's all I can hope for!
We've accomplished so much on Medium over the past seven years. We've managed, all of us together, to build a community so beautiful and thriving that nothing and no one will ever be able to stop it from living and breathing.
This new cutting may be born and flourish in this new garden, or it may never find the rays of the sun. Nothing is serious, and it's a test I propose to give here. We all know that sometimes it's good to try new things. I hope you'll enjoy exploring with me.
For now, I'm the only one on board this new, young plant, but I sincerely hope you'll join me very soon to feed it with your emotions, your words, your poems and your personal stories. In the next few days, I'll be sending out invitations for you to contribute and publish your stories and poems on your own.
Substack offers a host of advantages that we'll be able to take advantage of independently. I'll tell you more soon.
As I've always said, let's keep reading, writing, and dreaming! ✨
Tom
I'm always up for a new adventure. Thank you for the invitation, and I look forward to continuing and enhancing the Scribe community!
Just from my observations, I find that Substack readers are more engaged and willing to read in-depth essays and more artistic writing (I've also seen way less spam accounts). I'm excited for this new beginning, and I'm sure that Scribe will bloom here! :)
