The Moon was full last night. So was the ball rolling between the feet of the Romanian and Belgian players. Romania lost 2-0. I thought of Ema Dumitru. She's not here yet, but her fragrant poetry may soon tickle our nostrils and hearts.
Last night I was quite relaxed, which hasn't happened for a long time. Dear Scribe writers, I owe it to you. Perhaps one day we'll gather around a fire to laugh at the madness of the world and share a few poems. The Moon and the stars will watch over us, as they always have. Maybe we'll hear the wolves howling.
There doesn't seem to be much noise here. Just passionate writers and readers. No spam, no AI scammers. Maybe you'll see when you create your own publication (some of us know, I'm thinking of you
), everything is customizable.Everything can be done. Everything works, everything is fluid, everything is beautiful. Statistics make sense. The Notes feature, accessible from the computer or the app, lets you share short messages, links, images, videos, discover new writers and new publications. It's a real source of inspiration and a perfect complement to the longer formats you can publish here. I've only met serious writers here.
I had explored Substack around 2018-2019. I'd even started writing and publishing this newsletter. Don't subscribe, it's all in the past! I liked the design, but the features were limited - it wasn't possible to create multi-author publications at that time. I turned my back on it because what really mattered to me was writing and supporting other writers who, like me, wrote from the heart and showed great creativity. Since then, everything has changed and this publication was born. It seems to me that writers and publications feel at home on this platform.
I may be dazzled like two young lovers walking hand in hand along the shore among the sanderlings, but that's okay. The time to decompress has come and I'm not going to deprive myself of it. Have a good Sunday, everyone, and keep reading and writing!
i do love the idea of getting Scribe writers together around a fire and sharing our stories and our poetry over food and drinks. i would even be willing to step foot in France to make it happen!! : )
