Dear Reader,
I'm a little breathless as I publish this first issue of Papyrus, Scribe's Sunday newsletter! As you may have noticed, things have been moving very fast in my head since the launch of this publication on June 20th. To draw a wobbly parallel with the recent eruptions of Italy's Etna and Stromboli volcanoes - the images are awe-inspiring, and I'm always amazed when the earth expresses itself like this - an immense plume of ideas has been rising in my mind.
This special newsletter I'll be publishing every Sunday is one of the ideas I've chosen to embellish this new journey we've all begun together (with the literary salon, which I'll come to next). I've decided to embark on a new exploration with you, and I hope from the bottom of my heart that you will enjoy it and have a good time!
In case you haven't noticed, Scribe is a multi-author publication. Many of us write here, and I'm always amazed when I discover a new story or poem from the brilliant writers and poets who make up our extended family. You should never be disappointed in what you read!
This week,
shared his love of nature by telling us about the deep connection between nature and his writing, including his incredible series of poems, “Reflections in Nature”, and discovering an author I didn't know, N. Scott Momaday: I Hear Nature's Call. Then he offered us a moving poem, Time Changes Us, no doubt difficult to write, about traumas suffered in his early years. took us on a journey through the red sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon. posted a short essay that ends with these beautiful words: “It is found in the dawn of the night - hope infused between wind and water.” published a text that resonates with me as a sweet poetic thought and a wonderful invitation to write. Tell me, how could I not fall in love with the following sentence?Have you kissed the diamond-crested waves that embrace the beach or the edges of an amethyst sky? - Think About One Beautiful Thing That Happened This Week
