with their bright colors
pictures of emerald coast
parade through my mind
we can talk about outlooks
that tickle my heart of glass
I wrote this Tanka poem in May, a few days after my trip to Brittany, France. I took over 300 photos with my iPhone, including this one at Cap Fréhel:
This stretch of coastline on either side of Saint-Malo Bay is called the Emerald Coast because of the emerald green color of the sea at certain times of day in this area. As you can see, it is absolutely beautiful.
As I stood on the edge of the cliffs at the foot of the Cap Fréhel lighthouse, a light breeze blew through my hair and a few seagulls floated above my head. Offshore, the white sail of a tiny boat completed the immensity of blue that spread out before me.
And I thought, and I thought…
Il y a souvent plus de choses naufragées au fond d'une âme qu'au fond de la mer.
